Rose Eken injects magic into the everyday with her ceramics

Rose Eken injects magic into the everyday with her ceramics

Danish artist Rose Eken is a woman after our own hearts with her beautiful, off-kilter renditions of real life objects. Working out of her studio in Copenhagen, Rose uses ceramics to re-create the familiar objects and tableaux of modern life, and the things we surround ourselves with.

She takes seemingly boring, everyday objects like coffee cups, cigarettes, food and clothing, and freezes them in time. We suddenly realise in looking at Rose’s work, that these so-called banal objects which she focusses on are actually instilled with meaning, memories and narratives that are often held quite close...

Maja Säfström X Odd Pears

We’re so excited to introduce our first artist collaboration sock for 2017, with Maja Säfström. Maja is a Stockholm-based illustrator, who uses fine liners on paper to create her delightfully adorable and often humorous drawings. In love with Melbourne electro pop duo Kllo

In love with Melbourne electro pop duo Kllo

We love a bit of electro pop in the summertime, and recently we’ve been absolutely shredding the Soundcloud of Melbourne musical duo Kllo.

Kllo is the moniker for cousins Simon Lam and Chloe Kaul, and together their very catchy sound comprising of soft-smokey vocals over spiralling melodies and warm beats makes for the perfect sunny soundtrack. Kllo have enjoyed some massive successes since their explosive entrance into the music scene in 2014. After the release of their first EP ‘Cusp’, they’ve savoured high praise and rotation on the iTunes charts, millions of plays on Spotify and...

Ashley Ronning takes us to her fantasy space colony in her new solo show

“Earth's first colony on a not-so-distant planet has been inhabited for just over five years. The residents within have made great progress, but with no return trip in sight, it is easy to feel lonely and homesick.”

Melbourne-based artist and illustrator Ashley Ronning has a new solo show opening this week and, oh boy, judging by that introduction it’s going to be out of this world.

In No Place Like Space, Ashley is taking us on a time warp back to the 70’s to examine what humankind’s first colony in space may...

Shota Nakamura's loose, evocative pencil renderings

Shota Nakamura's loose, evocative pencil renderings

Shota Nakamura is a Japanese artist living and working in Berlin. He’s a painter, but we’ve been really taken with his loose, organic pencil renderings from the past couple of years. Inspired by nature and landscapes, for us Shota’s expressive works rustle up a deep feeling of familiarity and warmth. Since graduating from Musashino Art University in 2011, Shota has been showing his works in Japan and Germany. His exhibitions and collaborations with also happen to be with the likes of the creative guys at Kinfolk and some of Tokyo’s coolest bookstores.

Shota draws with...
