Oh damn, Pharrell’s been off collab-ing again! Seriously, does the dude ever stop? Don’t get us wrong we’re not complaining - dude brings the goods every time. Once again he’s teamed up with the folks at Adidas, this time supplying some funky phresh threads for the ladies.
June 5 saw the global drop of his latest capsule collection, the “Dear Baes" Tour Pack. Inspired by his tour back up dancers, The Baes, Pharrell has brought to life a great range of sports-inspired silhouettes and leisurewear. We see each Bae - Ai, Brya, Christina, Mette, Munchie, Nita, Rhoa and Aye - take on a colour and don the pieces themselves. Fruity colour ways in blues, greens, oranges, purples and reds differentiate each Bae in the entourage. The effect is kind of like if the Spice Girls were all Sporty Spice; powerful, colourful and different. Did someone say "squad goals"?!
Bold, expressive prints in abstract florals and Pharrell’s signature polkadots plaster oversized tees, graphic leggings, crop tops, matching circle skirts, racer shorts and comfortable bottoms. To be honest, it’s been a while since we’ve seen leisure wear look so damn good. These pieces would look incredible matchy-matchy or mixed up for ultimate colour and pattern clashes.
The overall vibe is a heartbreakingly awesome casual-cool girl look. Street ready and impossibly rad, the Baes bring these looks to a whole other level. Kinda makes us wanna grab a pair of Originals, throw on that classic polkadot tracksuit and hit up some hip hop classes. Of course, the result would probably be très lame than on fleek but a gal can dream, right?
