We’re rather taken with French illustration duo Atelier Bingo and their raw, hands-on approach to image making. Maxime Prou and Adele Favreau are the two illustrators, surface pattern and graphic designers with crafty hands and clever minds behind the studio, experimenting with screen printing and other graphic techniques like collage to create their iconic and incredibly colourful, abstract works. Let’s talk about Alessandro Mendini; a man of postmodernism, a shining beacon of the Radical Design movement and Italian avant-garde. Born in 1931 in Milan, Mendini’s career has been a highly influential one for the world of design, architecture and products. After graduating from Milan Polytechnic in 1959, he went on to become a master of many disciplines not contained to graphics, furniture, interiors, painting, architecture, objects and books. Psst, listen up! We’re about to tell you all about a hidden textile dream house in Brunswick, Melbourne that you need to know about. Home-Work is a bricks-and-mortar shop, work space and online store purveying some seriously tasty textiles. Lara Davies and Jess Wright are the masterminds and ink-pushers behind the studio, having worked side-by-side for the past 5 years designing products and teaching screen printing together. If they look a wee bit familiar to you, you may recognise their smiley faces from their days co-running Harvest Workroom a few years ago.

Mathery Studio are a multidisciplinary Italian creative practice who have seriously turned our eyeballs in the past year. Their unorthodox approach to design flips the everyday on its head, managing to blend functionality, fun, pragmatism and humour into one big bundle of amazingness. Friends; today is a good day. Last night Melbourne accessories label Witu launched their newest range COSMOS. With a delightful, tasty lookbook shot by another Melbourne yung-gun creative Sam Wong, they’ve been teasing us all over social media for the last week or so, dangling sneak peeks of their deluxe neoprene designs in front of our salivating gobs. We’re now very happy to finally be able to wipe the drool off our chins, sit back and experience the intergalactic-inspired collection in its entirety.
