The Creative Lives features Mark Whalen

MARK WHALEN FEATURE - The Creative Lives Season 2 from The Creative Lives on Vimeo.

Amidst the buzz surrounding Australian born, Los Angeles based artist Mark Whalen’s latest solo show Trapezoid, we were stoked to be pointed in the direction of a short feature released by The Creative Lives. Created by G. Lewis Heslet, the short documentary follows Mark back in 2010, amidst preparations for his show Paralleled Opposites. The footage may be a couple of years old, but it sheds an intriguing and insightful light on the processes and ideas behind Mark’s intricate, hypnotising work. As well as words from the legend himself, the documentary features interviews with the likes of Anthony Lister, Mike O’Meally and gallerists Ed Woodley and Merry Karnowsky.

Mark is a favourite of Odd Pears, and if you’re not familiar with it we wrote this post on him a little while ago.
