Melbourne-based creative Shuh Lee has been on our radar for a while now, with her super fun, colourful brand shuh. Her ability to take the most wonderful shapes and hues and fuse them together in her raw, organic style has us squee-ing with delight.
Shuh’s multidisciplinary practice encompasses a kaleidoscope of jewellery, illustrations, prints, bedding and scarves all designed from her humble home studio. Using a combination of art and craft, she takes colourful, vibrant objects and shapes and transforms them into a product that is usable, wearable and fun. Oversized silhouettes and and experimental approach to materials gives us the vibe that wearing one of Shuh’s pieces would be a giddy feeling something akin to running through cascading confetti. Her popping palettes and colours translate directly into party good times for us.
Shuh has been expanding beyond the canvas since 2012, and is now looking to extend her practice further into the realms of fashion - and you can help her too! With visions to create a mini clothing line consisting of t-shirts and leggings (umm!), Shuh has launched her very own Pozible campaign to kick-start the dream. Exploring new materials, processes and products can be damn expensive, and juggling being an artist with earning a stable income is a true struggle. With incentives like prints, pillowcases, necklaces and scarfs from the brand, reaching into our hearts and pockets is proving to be a very simple decision. What could feel more wholesome on a Saturday night than donating to a young creative making beautiful work knowing that you’re helping them make their dreams a reality.
